Nail Surgery

Nail Surgery involves the removal of the whole nail or one or both sides according to the condition.

Nails become damaged due to trauma (i.e. shoe pressure or dropping something on them).

You can also inherit bevelled nails when conservative treatment of a nail condition hasn’t been successful. Nail surgery is an option and may be necessary due to ingrowing nails, involuted nails or very thick nails.

In our experience it is generally bad nail cutting which is the most likely cause for nail surgery. Nail surgery is a straightforward procedure including the use of a local anaesthetic. It takes 30-40 minutes on average. The area generally has to be kept dry for about 3 weeks.
